Carbon Credit Certificates
Carbon credits are commercial documents obtained in projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or absorb greenhouse gases.
What are Carbon Credit Certificates?
Carbon credit certificates and transactions include a number of procedures that regulate the purchase, sale and use of these credits.
These transactions are usually carried out through a carbon market. Carbon markets are platforms where Decarbonized credits are traded between buyers and sellers.December. Carbon credits can be obtained from projects that achieve emission reduction or absorption, and trading these credits is important to ensure the financing of projects and promote efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Decarbonization operations can be carried out on international carbon markets and are used to support global climate change efforts among various stakeholders.
The Most Applicable Standards in Voluntary Markets
- • Gold Standard(GS)
- • Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS)
The Gold Standard (GS) is a system developed to determine the standards of carbon reduction projects in the carbon credit market and to ensure the monitoring, verification and certification of these projects.
These standards ensure that projects achieve a certain level of quality and performance in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions or increase their absorption. The Gold Standard was established in 2003 and is supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). These standards are designed to promote effective solutions to combat global climate change and to verify the appropriateness of these solutions. The Gold Standard certification process includes verification and monitoring of the project. In order to ensure emission reduction or absorption, projects are monitored for a certain period of time and their compliance with the criteria determined in this process is checked. When projects are successfully verified, Gold Standard certificates are issued and these certificates can be traded on carbon markets.
The Gold Standard also takes into account the social, environmental and economic benefits of projects in order to ensure high quality and reliability in the carbon credit market. For this reason, GS certificates increase the value of pioneering projects in areas such as environmental sustainability and social benefit and promote effective solutions to combat global climate change.

The Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) is an international standard for the verification and certification of projects carried out voluntarily with the aim of reducing or absorbing greenhouse gas emissions.
This standard sets standards for the quality, traceability and accountability of projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or increase their absorption, and allows these projects to create carbon credits. VCS was founded in 2005 and is managed by Verra (formerly Verified Carbon Standard Association), a non-profit organization. VCS creates a framework to facilitate the trading of carbon credits and ensure their reliability in carbon markets around the world. The VCS verification process includes a set of criteria for verifying the design and implementation of the project. The project determines a strategy that will ensure emission reduction or absorption, and the compliance of this strategy with the established criteria is verified. With the successful verification of the project, carbon credits can be created and exchanged. VCS certificates are used for trading in carbon markets and ensure the traceability and reliability of the carbon credit source. These certificates encourage projects to be economically sustainable, while at the same time requiring them to provide environmental and social benefits. Sundays Decarbonization is a voluntary decarbonization project, which is why VCS aims to promote effective solutions in the fight against global climate change by creating a standard framework between projects in voluntary Decarbonization markets.
